Teaching and Learning with Technology online conference, May 4 – 7, 2009. This looks like a wonderful opportunity to take advantage of professional development without having to travel, and it’s FREE! Former Governor Angus King gives the opening keynote on the 4th, followed by an opportunity to experience Second Life with Tim Hart. The sessions on the 5th – 7th cover all subject areas and topics. I hope you can join in!

A professional development project and virtual extension of the TESOL Convention.
For six weeks , participants can engage with ESOL experts in collaborative, online discussion sessions or hands-on virtual workshops of professional and scholarly benefit. These sessions will bring together participants for a longer period of time than is permitted by the four-day land-based TESOL convention and will allow a fuller development of ideas and themes of the convention or of professional interest in general.
The sessions are free and open to all interested parties. You do not need to be a TESOL member to participate.
To view the 2009 EVO sessions, go to Call for Participation 09.
You may join sessions after January 2nd.

MaineEd 2008 was great this year. Sheryl Nussbaum-Beach was the keynote speaker and her message about the needed shift in education was just as important as ever to hear. Bob recorded the keynote
Bob, Cheryl, and I presented “Geek of the Week”, which was well attended and broadcast live on EdTEchTalk.com. It was great to see my colleagues from our high school and from the summer classes at USM. The audio podcast and links should be available soon.
With 1000+ people in attendance it was invigorating to see the excitement of the attendees. It will be fun to see the follow up at the MaineED netvibes site set up by Michael Richards.
